Crane is one of the commonly equipments which are used to hand material. With the strengthening of the various construction projects in our country, especially stimulated by the high development of oil, electricity and other industries, the demand of crane is increasing significantly. In order to improve the efficiency, the automatic operation of crane is required. Numerical crane system developed in this paper is used to handle the nuclear waste when the nuclear power plant deals with the nuclear waste. The nuclear waste is a radioactive substance, the operators'health should be pay more attention, when they operate crane. so it is of great significance to strengthen the automatic operations and remote monitoring capabilities of crane system.According to the analysis of the existing technology of nuclear power plant waste disposal systems and the waste processing workflow, the numerical crane system is designed. The numerical crane operating management and control system is developed to complete the everyday handling of nuclear waste. The system is completed with Microsoft Visual Studio2008development platform and the OpenSceneGraph (referred to as OSG) as the graphics engine. This can complete the job automatically, monitor the whole operating process of the crane, record the information of the nuclear waste storage automatically, and also can update the information of storage automatically.First, the background, meaning and research status of the numerical crane system are introduced in this paper. Then, the general scheme of the system which is based on the information mentioned before is described. Second, the scene model is analyzed and designed. The scene tree of the virtual monitoring system is constructed based on the scene graph technology. The function of Monitoring crane operations is completed by the related technologies of OSG. Other functional modules in the system include the operations management module, the storage management module and the System management module. These function modules are made a detailed analysis and design. The database needed by the software portion is reasonably designed. Finally, we describe the implementation process of the main function modules, and also add the pivotal code and program results to explain.
