With the development of modern information technology, especially the rapid development of wireless communications technology, microstrip antenna has been widely used with its small size, light weight, structural stability, feed flexible, easy-to-volume production in the field of military technology. The article analysis and researches the omni-directional antennas for the detector. First, it introduced the basic principles of microstrip antenna and the main analysis methods. Second, designed and simulated two microstrip antennas by using of CST STUDIO SUITE 2010 software. One is applied over a circular microstrip antenna, the other is wideband triangular microstrip slot antenna, which is based on the detector antenna special pattern. Finally, introduced the antenna of the production process and measurement technology, measured the wideband triangular microstrip slot antenna, and the simulated and measured data were analyzed and summarized., a sample antenna is fabricated and the performance is tested. The measured result shows a good agreement with the simulated one. These results show that the microstrip antennas have the advantages of small size and wideband characteristic, and their patterns meet the requirements.
