Undoubtedly, the development of automobile industry puts forward higher requirements for the skill of wheel alignment which makes more importance to the detection of the wheel aligner. At the same time, the development of the machine vision adds new roads for it. So, the application of the machine vision to the wheel aligner is done by this paper, which raises a way to measure the Toe and the Camber at one time.This system measures the Camber by the inclination sensor, while measures the Toe by machine vision. The steps for the Toe is following:First, capture and process the image which is projected by an array of laser line-light-source and get the relationship between the Toe and the projection position of the light. Then, measure the Toe by inserting value in the fore-relationship according to the projection position measured and the approximately linear relationship between the Toe and the projection position derived by this paper.The whole system is established applying the MFC skills, USB transferring skills and image processing in the VC6.0 and KEIL2 soft interface. It can be divided into 3 modules:the interface module, the USB controlling module and the image processing module. The result is showed in the applying software after the indirect value is got and handled by the system.At last, this paper verifies the feasibility and the accuracy using the collected and true data, then analyses the causes of errors in the actual system.
