As one of the most important attachment of pneumatic valves, the intelligence positioning controller can improve the performance of pneumatic valves in many aspects such as enhance controlling accuracy, increase flexibility and so on. It makes pneumatic-valves could better meet the requirements of industrial process control. In recent years, with the rapid development of industrial automation, intelligence positioning controller produced by foreign companies have already occupied most of the market, but the high price promotes the study boom of the intelligent positioning controller. Under the background of "Localization", this paper mainly describes the design and research of the intelligent positioning controller.Firstly, the paper gives the general design scheme of the intelligence positioning controller, which based on a full understanding about the positioning controller and its related technology. Secondly, the hardware design adopts the scheme of "Control Main board plus Digital Communication board", select MSP430 which is low power consumption as the core microprocessor, and introduce the design of each module in detail. Then, the software design takes the modular design, uses the single neural and adaptive PID which the gain can adjust by itself to realize positioning control, has deep research with the HART communication and so on. Finally, the author builds a debugging platform for the intelligent positioning controller, and takes a discussion about some project technical problems.Research and debugging result shows that the intelligence positioning controller can realize precise positioning control, manual adjustment, digital communication and so on. It has some practical significance for the "Localization" of intelligence positioning controller.
