With the development of the sensing technology, embedded system technology and wireless communication technology, people now focus on healthcare field much more, their requirement of wearable medical service made the research on body area network become a hot spot of healthcare field. As one branch of wireless sensor network and important part of the Internet of things, because of the long-term detecting the physical parameters of the human body, body area network plays a huge role in the domain of community health services and rural medical service; it also has important significance in the modern medical industry. Moreover body area network can also apply to some other field, such as traditional medical fields,sports industry,the entertainment industry and so on, even also can be used in military field.Body area network is different from the typical wireless sensor networks in many needs and characteristics because of human body are the carrier of sensor nodes. At present many equipment which detecting the physical parameters of the human body been put into market, and the related detection technology are heading for maturity. But so far they have been no unified wireless communication standards, establishing a uniform interface and communication standards become a research direction of body area network.According to the characteristics of the body area network, centering on the wireless network communication and communication platform, we analysis the communication index and the presently wireless communication technology, present the wireless communication implementation scheme based on expanded tree network. In addition we design the unified interface according to the specific needs and application fields. The sensor nodes are based on microprocessor (MSP430F149) and wireless communication module (ANT).We set up a wireless communication platform and make the simulated experiments. The platform realizes the basic function of the wireless network communication and we briefly analyze the performance about the network power consumption, etc. The test results show that the wireless communication platform interface is simple (at most 8 pin, ART communication); lost package rate can be controlled under 0.03% and it is easy to extend network. At last this platform performs better than those which use ZigBee in regard to power dissipation.
