Multicast is an efficient communication method of sending data from one or more source to multi-receivers. IP multicast realizes its functionality primarily on routers, which shows high network resource usage among network applications. However, IP multicast relies heavily on the network infrastructure, it hasn't been widely used on the Internet.To solve the fault of IP multicast, Application Layer Multicast (ALM) is proposed by some researchers. ALM forwards packets functionality implemented on end-hosts, it uses unicast to connect end-hosts, and retains the previous Internet simple, unicast and best-effort delivery model, so it has been widely used on Internet. But it also occurs some technical shortcomings. To achieve higher data delivery radio, lower link stress and secure of multicast becomes so urgent a problem as to be solved.This paper presents one hierarchical multi-ring Application Layer Multicast secure model SMHMR (Secure Model based on Hierarchical Multi-Rings). The model makes use of hierarchy and area-partition technology, based on hierarchical Multi-Rings architecture, different nodes belong to different rings depending on their geographic information, the ring leader uses area-partition technology to establish and dynamic maintain the transmitting topology. This paper uses two ways to solve multicast secure issues. It uses hashing sign digital streams to the problem of source authentication, while the model draws into CRTSS (Chinese Remainder Theorem-Based Secret Sharing) solution for group key management. In the model, each ring leader selects several assist nodes to key distribution and each adjacent node establish share key. Simulation results show that the model has lower end to end delay and link stress, and furthermore it improves the multicast security and efficiency as well.
