Based on the integration of the network resources of the professional equipment, the purpose for this project is to realize the unified management of the alarms, and support for the Business Management layer. Through analyzing the architecture of telecom operation support system, fault management was determined as the main function which is expected to achieve the development of integrated network management system. We adopted a four-layer structure design in this system: access layer, business logic layer, objects management layer and data management layer. Through the conversion of the protocols and information models, the access layer provides a unified and standard information model to the upper-layer. Business logic layer realized the most of main functions by invoking the access layer, and through access to the object management layer to access the data. Object management layer was used to manage the network entity and service that has been abstracted to the data model. The data management layer manages the specific data by database. The system was based on Huawei iMAP platform, providing a secondary development interface as well.With the reference of the ITU-T TMN model and eTOM model in framework design and Information modeling, a unified, standard information model by alarm-object model technology was established in this system. This system provides an open CORBA interface for easy integration with other systems. The system achieved the main functions of the topology management, fault management, knowledge base management, alarm analysis and statistics. Through integrated with resource management system, the system achieved the alarm correlation, analysis, and processing functions. Through association with electro-workflow system and knowledge base system, this system achieved some special functions, like alarm automatically distributed work orders and association of alarms with the customers.This system adapt to the centralized & integrated demand of telecommunication enterprise in terms of operation & maintenance, service and management. It changed the situation of special company can only provide a special NMS. And it powerful supported the development of telecommunication Service. Through initial trial, the system has greatly improved the efficiency in equipment maintenance and daily management.
