With the gradual development of national golden card project, major domestic banks begin to bring out large amount of financial IC cards. This kind of financial IC card is much safer and more extendable than the traditional magnetic stripe card, and will surely replace the magnetic card in near future. With the emergence of financial IC card, people's payment methods have changed greatly and many new ways of payment have appeared in the society. Therefore, the variety of payment methods brings about great convenience to the customers. The application of financial IC card is not only limited to financial payment, but also plays an important role in card using circumstances which requires identification recognition and information recording, such as: traditional bus, railway, civil life, campus, medical treatment. In this aspect, financial IC card enables people to adopt one card for multiple purposes and brings about convenience to people greatly.A card number with a password is the main way of payment in traditional Internet, which ensures the security of payment environmental by USB KEY. With the development of the financial IC card, the traditional way can't meet the requirements of IC card payment characteristics for transition and more simpleness of Payment Method, and has been lagged behind.As the application context of financial IC card and payment methods have changed greatly, the read-card terminal requires to be much safer, more stable and more convenient environment. How to make the financial facility much safer, more stable and convenient has become a urgent study topic for the development of financial industry, which requires an urgent solution.This paper, based on "china financial integrated circuit card specifications", starting from the designs of hardware schematics and PCB layout, designs and develops a new kind of smart card reader, realizing the base communication protocol of smart card, communication protocol of USB CC1D, PBOC2.0 financial transaction and the function of Internet payment.Firstly, based on the requirement of the present financial specifications,we cheose the suitable hardware equipments have been chosed to design the picture of schematic diagram and PCB layout, and the conduct test on the basis of electrical characteristic to ensure a stable working environment of the equipment is conducted.Secondly, based on the comparison of the communication protocol for the current mainstream smart card, we choose the protocol of USB CCID with better expansibility and compatibility in order to enforce such USB communication protocol work on our own hardware platform.Finally, we are devote to enforce realize the functions of PBOC 2.0 financial transaction, and internet payment terminal agreement on a stable hardware platform, design the framework of the development program, and present a testing instance for terminal's full functions for card reader.This design of the equipment can solve the difficult problem that the financial IC card is used in the Internet environment with a card. It changes the traditional way of payment using a card number with a password. The manufacture cost of this equipment is not high, just as much as that of the USB KEY.But it has functions oft trade showing, PIN inputting, IC card reading and writing. Moreover, it is so small that it can be easily put into the purse. Low price, multifunction, carry convenience and payment convenience will ensure the value of its application in financial industry.
