Research And Implementation Of Devices And Resources Administration In Home Network Based On IGRS

With the rapid development of digital home devices and network communication technology, the home networking is highly demanded in China. The type and number of home devices, and the device resources and services are increasing, which leads to the difficulty in managing the resources of home devices, and ultimately the low efficiency in resources sharing among home devices. To solve this problem, this thesis will present a novel mechanism to manage the home network device resources based on the IGRS protocol. This mechanism is able to significantly facilitate the resources sharing among the home devices.IGRS protocol was proposed by "IGRS" standardization organization, which was formed by Lenovo, TCL, Konka and other companies. It adopts an open architecture, using some mature existing technical specifications, such as HTTP, SSDP, XML, SOAP, GENA. It achieved the automatic discovery, automatic networking, resources sharing and collaboration services among digital home devices in the home network based on the TCP/IP.Combinating with development of the digital home at this stage, this thesis analyzes the current IGRS protocol standard problems.Firstly, because the device on the IGRS protocol manage the resources only through subscription and monitoring the message from the multicast address, with the growing number of home network devices, this loose management mechanism is likely to influence the efficiency of device operation and cause the confusion of device management.Secondly, at this stage, the home network device's safety certification process of the IGRS protocol is overly complicated, which is not practical for ordinary home users, also increasing the burden of device, affecting the device operation rate. Thirdly, at this stage, the resources and capabilities difference of the different digital home devices often makes it difficult to achieve a real resources and services sharing among the home devices.Finally, at present, a device in the home network to implement the remote control has certain limitation, and there are not many schemes and methods to achieve remote control at this stage.To solve the above problems, this paper presents a centralized coordination solution for home devices and resources management, and proposes a system of devices and resources administration. There are functions of devices and resources management, security certification, resource information, ability adapter and remote control for the home devices. It enables the users to manage and utilize the resources of home devices in a more convenient way, and realize the sharing of resources, services and capabilities among the home devices in an easier way.
