In order to fulfill the requirement of the network in the next generation, Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) routing area of the ForCES working group put forward the open programmable router architecture which is consited of two seprated physical parts:the forwarding elements(FE) and controlling elements(CE). The reliable multicast of the protocol message based on the ForCES architecture has a great significance in improving the performance of the network. The article is based on the original reliable multicast of the protocol message in ForCES architecture router and have a careful research on the mechanism of congestion-control. It has been Put forward the performence-requirements, analysised the improved scheme and perfected the performance of the reliable multicast protocol in the article. It made the reliable multicast protocol better deal with the mutation and instability of the network environment, so it improved the performance of the router. The article is structured as follows:First of all, it has a detailed analysis in the FE endpoint with the negative feedback storm issues of the ForCES reliable multicast, and proposed one kind of negative feedback inhibition mechanism based the random holddown timer. After the test, the mechanism can be used for feedback inhibition, save network bandwidth; Secondly, based on the study of the ForCES protocol messages reliable multicast transmission rate regulating mechanism, puts forward a kind of reliable multicast rate adjustment mechanism, after the test, on one hand the mechanism can ensure a stable reliable multicast flow with high transmission performance,on the other hand it can have a fair sharing bandwidth of the control protocol message transmitted by TCP. Thereby it ensure the whole performance of the router.Finally, based on the study above, it develop the module on the ForCES prototype, test and analysis comprehensive performance of the mechanism. Analysis results show that the proposed reliable multicast congestion control mechanism in the ForCES router channel can be successfully used in ForCES architecture.
