Photogrammetry is an advanced technology, which can measure the location and size of a target using cameras imitating human's eyes. Digital photogrammetry combines many key technologies of digital image processing, and it can be used for high precision measurement with some special equipments. Because photogrametry can provide untouched measurement, it is quite suitable for those occasions where the target cannot be touched or unable to touch. This thesis takes research in many basic technologies of digital image processing, especially focusing on detection and feature matching, and also takes experiments to find their advantages and disadvantages. A method was found which is more fit this project. Besides, several methods of camera calibration have been investigated to find a method which can realize calibration of double cameras. From what have been done above, a photogrammetry system finally has been accomplished. The system uses two cameras imitating eyes to measure the size of target, and calculates displacement of the target between two pictures captured from different time. The targets have kinds of different shapes, so it's difficult to find a general way which can be used to measure all of them. This thesis took research in objects which have apparent corners, and object whose shape like a ellipse, also measured length of human's arm. Due to its untouched character, this system can be used to measure some targets in motion. |
