With the high speed development of economy and the rising of our living standard, in the beginning of the 21st century, safety accidents of all kinds of agricultural products occurred frequently; thus the safety of agricultural products catches more and more people's extensive concern, and the food chain "from the fields to the table" for the whole control of agriculture products has gradually been recognized. At the same time, as informationization improves rapidly, the network technology and GIS technology have been used in agricultural fields continuously, and WebGIS has become an important factor in the construction of traceability information management platform. Therefore, based on the management of producing area and agricultural products, to construct WebGIS tracing system platform is imperative, while the application of the system can not only improve the agricultural product standardization management level, but also reduce the risks of agricultural products quality, as well as improve the efficiency of agricultural product value, and in the long term, can promote the development of agriculture.This paper took a representative agricultural product, potato, as an example, took the pollution-free potato-planting base in Taqian Town, Nanping City of Fujian province as a production base, to elaborate the design and completion of the traceability information system on managing the quality and safety of agricultural products, which all based on the WebGIS.This paper mainly includes the following contents:(1) Research progress and related technologies on tracing system platform for agricultural productsThe domestic and foreign developing situations, as well as the realization technology of the tracing system platform of agricultural products were introduced, while the key technology of WebGIS platform was analyzed, and another key technology used in the system development were illustrated.(2) The establishment of electronic code map of agricultural product traceabilityBased on the origin of the environmental assessment, geographic marking information service was applied; and took the administrative area charts and terrain as benchmarks, coding producing areas of agricultural products was drew. On the basis of producing area code, combing with the agricultural planting area, topography, soil type and other factors, a certain producing area environment unit was identified, and finally, the electronic code map of agricultural producing areas was drew.(3) Development of tracing system for management and traceability of agricultural products based on the WebGISThe development of the system followed the B/S architecture of the three layers, by using object oriented program language ASP.NET and taking ArcGIS Server as map public Server. The system realized the remote networking management functions of agricultural products, producing environmental safety evaluation and the function of multiple traceability clients based on WebGIS.
