With the development of the human society, positioning services have been frequently incorporated into our daily lives in the forms of vehicle navigation, human positioning, online social networking location check-in, etc. A wide variety of applicable areas raise the importance of positioning service. Recently emerged Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) acts as a wireless communication technology which is characteristics of low cost, less power consumption and easy networking has been widely used in various industries, national defense, agriculture, smart home, etc. Even more market potential is yet to discover. The technical features of WSN make it fit for ireless positioning. Thus it is significant to WSN.In this thesis, a detail design and deep investigation of Wireless Sensor Network Positioning System based on ZigBee technology are made. A description of their basic principle is performed. A design and implementation of the software and hardware of the system are conducted. A proposal of a multi-lateral positioning algorithm based on SVD algorithm is made. The main works done are as follows:Firstly, by analyzing the characteristics of Wireless Sensor Network protocol and ZigBee technology, especially the advantages of Wireless automatic system based on ZigBee, a wireless orientation system based on it is designed. In which, the CC2430 made in Texas Instruments is selected as the main control chip in the hardware, the power supply circuit, node interface, reset circuit, JTAG, LCD circuit, serial communication interface circuit and USB-to-RS 232 circuit, In the software, the programming of PAN coordinator, reference node and node location and the establishment of the ZigBee network is made.Secondly, a comparison and a discussion of some very common centralized localization methods in Wireless Sensor Network are made. By choosing the method of RSSI-based ranging, multilateral localization model of the system is established, the propagation depletion coefficient n in the energy model is studied, and a wireless positioning algorithm based on the SVD algorithm is proposed and a comparison of the SVD algorithm with the classic LSM algorithm is performed.Finally, the experimental test is made, and the result shows that the system can build the built network runs well, the communication between nodes can be implemented, and the positioning accuracy based on SVD method can obtained about lm in the range from 30m to 40m, thus verifying the validity and expansibility of this method.
