LED which is solid state semiconductor light source, has advantages such as long life, non-pollution, energy-saving, environmental protection, shock resistance, varieties of application forms and etc., and is getting more and more attention of the society. With the advance of technology development and industrialization, LED lighting is gradually replacing the traditional light sources; high power LED lighting has become a research focus in the industry. The problems: light efficiency, heat, uniformity of light and color, product reliability, price, bio-safety, industry standards are the current constraints of LEDs into the lighting field.In this paper, the principle of the LED, the development history, advantage of high power LED in the lighting field and the current status are researched; and the key factors affecting the high-power LED are analyzed; appropriate technological solutions are proposed. The research Focus on the LED package and the applications, and is verified and enriched with and the process of industrialization. This main work:With analysis of the development history of the LED package, the advantages and disadvantages of different package forms, the COB package mode is a trend of future power LED application form. In LED package, optical channel, thermal channel, electrical channel, co-ordination of materials, technology is the major factors to affect the quality of LED devices.Compare to the current thermal solutions and grading solutions used in LED lighting, the use of liquid metal cooling model and the light source module in the form of flat-panel lens is proposed.LED light source production made in Taihe photoelectric company, the aspects of the LED package, the configuration of the packaging equipment, selection and control of materials are introduced.
