At present, the optical fiber communication technology is being under rapid development,Because of the advantages of wide frequency band, low loss, and strong anti-interference capability.Synchronous Digital Hierarchy (SDH) system is widely used by many enterprises, but thetraditional SDH technology hasn't been able to meet the needs of enterprise network transmission.Along with the rapid development of Ethernet, data service has become the main service oftelecommunication. MSTP has drawn a lot of attention because it introduces the carrying capacityfor many kinds of data services into SDH. On one side, MSTP can make use of the technology andnetwork foundation of SDH, and on the other side, it can satisfy the requirements of data service.Firstly, the development of MSTP technology, and the background are discussed.Seconly,focus on the basic principle of MSTP, MSTP technology concepts and principles of the variousfunctional modules are described. This paper also discusses on the detailed use of a new generationMSTP technology, such as Generic Framing Procedure (GFP), Multi-protocol Label Switching(MPLS), Resilient Packet Ring (RPR) and other key technologies. Meanwhile, based on the MSTPtechnology in-depth study, the application of MSTP in WCDMA network are discussed, theprinciples and technical solutions are also researched. Besides, it also analyses the enterprise opticalfiber communication networks through MSTP based on SDH.In the end of the paper, it designs a Tengzhou WCDMA transmission network and anenterprise network according to the technology above. Then it makes a simulation test on theNetwork and Application. The result shows that the proposed viewpoint is feasible and couldsuccessfully support voice and data services.It proved that MSTP is the most appropriatetechnology at this stage, MSTP technology have good prospects for development.
