MIMO technology is a hot issue in the wireless communication fields. When designing and analyzing practical wireless MIMO systems, the correlation among antennas has to be considered carefully. The capacity and performance of the MIMO system is often highly dependent on this correlation. To ensure the low correlation, spatial diversity can not well apply in small terminals, such as mobile phone, etc.Thus, it is desirable to be able to use polarization diversity in order to keep the overall size of the antenna array down.The thesis,which is based on the assumption of narrow-band flat fading channel,establishes three models for the research of multi-polarized MIMO channel. The main contents of this thesis are as follows:Firstly, we establish a single reflection model for outdoor micro-cell environment to analyze the relevant characters. We analyze the curve of channel capacity and the polarization angle by varying the antenna polarization angle of both ends. At the mean time, we discuss the feasibility of polarization diversity which compared to spatial diversity. Secondly, by ray-tracing method, we model and simulate the specific indoor environment, and analyze the relevant characters. We also analyze the curve of channel capacity and the polarization, and then, verify the advantages of MIMO technology.Thirdly, we introduce the model process of Kronecker product model, establish the statistical model according to the relevant parameters by Ray-Tracing, and make a comparison between the two. Importantly, we put forward to the revised statistical model to approach the theory analysis.According to analysis, the channel capacity of vertical polarization achieves the maximum in both models, fully demonstrates that the polarization diversity can be used as a diversity resource, which is possible to apply MIMO technology in the small terminal, and also provides an important theoretical basis for the broad application of MIMO technology.
