Air ball system shares the characteristic of nonlinearity and multi-disturbance. The paper focuses on the study of air ball control system modeling and PID control algorithm, to meet the rapid and precise requirements.Due to the complexity of the system, the system was divided into two modules for modeling. Mechanism modeling and Least Squares (LS) identification methods were used to establish the model of the air ball. Using Matlab Simulink simulate the model, According to the different input data for system identification. The identification results show the complexity of the system mechanism。Modeling the control system of air ball and using the block of NCD in MATLAB to optimize the parameters of PID. The conventional PID controller and fuzzy PID controller were designed. The simulation results show that algorithm of PID is relatively simple, but regulation Take up a long time, Although Fuzzy control algorithm uses more system resources, But overshooting and adjust time performance better and achieve better control effect.Through experimental we observe actual control of the hardware device, Results show that Fuzzy PID control has small overshoot, high control precision, Control results better than the regular cascade PID control, Track resistance, immunity and robustness are also very good.
