Static output feedback problem involves looking for a static feedback gain to achieve some required performance. Static output feedback is concerned because its the most simple closed-loop control in reality. Another important reason is many dynamic controller design problem can be performed as static output feedback problem of augmented system.In this paper, the problem of static output feedback control of time-invariant system and time-delay system are considered. We analysis the stability of two systems, give sufficient conditions and a direct method of designing static output feedback controller. The simplicity and superiority of the algorithm is demonstrated by numerical examples.1. Consider the static output feedback control of time-invariant system. By imposing a block-diagonal structure on the Lyapunov matrix, we proposed a direct algorithm of static output feedback stabilization based on LMI. This algorithm is concise and overcomes the drawback of former algorithms which need the initial values.2. Consider the static output feedback control of time-delay system. We fully consider the information of time-delay, proposed a direct algorithm of static output feedback stabilization based on LMI of time-delay system. Numerical examples demonstrate the simplicity and superiority.
