With the rapid development of economy, people pay more and more attention to their physical health, so the number of people taking physical examination increases greatly. At present, the information processing of physical examination in our country is still in a manual mode, which leads to the physical examination center's big workload, low work efficiency and a long period for obtaining the examination results. It's difficult or even hard to realize the data's retrieval and in-depth statistical analysis by hand, providing no sufficient data for medical scientific research. In order to solve these series of problems, it is imperative to establish a more standardized, rationalized and scientific information management system for physical examination which is based on the computer. This paper firstly elaborates this selected topic's background, significance and current situation at home and abroad. Then it introduces the system analysis of the physical examination management system, including feasibility analysis, functional needs analysis, data requirements analysis, system E-R diagrams, business process diagrams, data flow diagrams and data dictionary. It also expounds the system's design principle, business processes, overall design and database design in detail. Taking Chenming hospital (Shouguang, Shandong) as an example, this paper introduces the design and implementation of information management system for the physical examination in small or medium-sized hospitals.Adopting the data mining technology, this system uses Windows Server 2003 as its network operating system, Microsoft.Net server as its development tool and SQL Server 2000 as its database. It covers the various functional components of the management system, including the physical examination results'analysis using data mining technology, network registration, reservation, query, modification and network results' analysis. The implementation of this system can greatly reduce manual labor, improve working efficiency and save resources and costs of the hospital in physical examination.
