Research On Information Avoidance

This paper mainly studied the behavior of information avoidance based on individual feelings, experience and cognitive characteristics. In theory, information avoidance behavior is one kind of user behaviors, researching on information avoidance behavior is helpful to the development and deepening of user theory. In practice, understanding information avoidance behavior and the mechanism of its occurrence will guide users to avoid information appropriately, reduce ineffective information processing, thereby enhancing the efficiency of the user's information activities.This article first reviewed relevant research results of the domestic and foreign, then researched the performance and process of stimulate in a variety of situations. The paper carried out empiricaled research besed on four kinds of context information avoidance behavior, including the medical context, the library browsing context, the research context and the decision-making situation, and summarized the reason of information avoidance behavior under different context. Next, the paper discussed the relationship of information avoidance behavior with other everyday information behavior. Finally, the author elaborated the occurrence of information avoidance behavior and its mechanism by using the theory of psychology, economic and dissemination.
