As a medium cultural writer and critic Neil Postman lived in such a special era of print media alternate to electronic media. He saw a hidden cruel reality behind a busy scene of electronic media due to the unique reality care, humane care and ethical care emotions. As Postman worried what we hate will not destroy us, and we will end the things we loved. Postman called "loved things" is an entertainment environment that telegram, photography, radio, television, computers and other electronic media technology followed the print media to create for us. In this environment, our political, religious, news, sports, education and business have become entertainment accessories, and finally result is amusing us to death. This paper is to explore the core of his critical theory of media that impact of the technology to human social, cultural and psychological. Although like other researchers he believes that technology should be our double-edged sword, he is more concerned about the technology gave us the negative effects. He explained to once the technology developed to a monopoly stage the erosion to traditional culture and cultural literacy particularly from technology is inevitable.This topic mainly dependent on his "amusing ourselves to death", "The disappearance of childhood", "technopoly" that the trilogy of his critical media. So the article is also closely around these books started. Combined the background that Postman lived and the origin of his media criticism ideas to analyzed his theory.Postman does not recognized he is a technological determinism and the pessimists though he always with a critical eye in examining the development of a media technology. He just proposed a cautionary threat for us from the perspective of a cultural, the principles of humanism. He even offers us a way to resist the technological monopoly harm, although not necessarily true. But It is not difficult to see, Postman is not only a pessimistic on the future of technology world and human. And we should be seeing the hope and the future of technology from the Postman so as to enable used technology better for human and state.
