Current China auto market is suitable for automobile industry development, especially for Chinese domestic automobile brands, while the reality situation is we still have the big gap with foreign automobile brands in vehicle quality. Quality control is part and parcel of manufacturing system for mass production. Quality control is to determine the operational tolerances and the way to control process variation for assuring the production quality against design tolerances. The main purpose of this paper is to show how to control the quality of design deliverables during the design phase of vehicle development, the tolerance stack-up analysis of body dimension is calculated by a Monte-Carlo simulation for solving the tolerance stack-up problem within multi-setups. Based on the tolerance stack-up model and process capability analysis, a tolerance determination method for single parts is developed in each process of manufacturing.The method of tolerance analysis based on the VisVSA business software is not only suit for body design, it also could be applied in other system of vehicle construction, and this is the necessary quality control method for new vehicle development, cost reduction and robust design realization.The paper has the following content:1.
