Along with the high informationalization and intelligentization of our socie ty, visualization technology is being used more widely as an important branch of computer. At present, the oil industry is also introducing the visualization te chnology to guide drilling.in order to realize the visualization of borehole trajec tory, to reduce the losses caused by borehole collision, to improve the drilling efficiency. domestic borehole trajectory visualization was started much later. At present, the domestic borehole 3d display is drab, and the description on the well trajectory is not intuitive,showing no attachment relationship between the layer and borehole trajectory.In regards to the current domestic shortcomings of visualization software on well trajectory, first of all, the article launches thorough researches on the 3d layers division and the method of modeling the 3d layers, deviding them into layer structure model and block structure model respectively. Meanwhile, the artical also study the method of well trajectory space form expression,the principles for borehole trajectory design, azimuth calculation and reasons for borehole bending. Adapting Visual studio 2005 as the software development platform, applying the OpenGL 3d graphics library develop standards and Qt 3d visualization framework layered structure model and massive structure model of computer graphics expression, the article eventually achieves the theory on 3d visualization of drilling borehole trajectory in layer formation and blocks the strata. At the end, the article summarizes the research and design, discussing some details on visualization which needs to be improved in the future.The visualization software on drilling trajectory desined by the article provides a reference idea on the realization of borehole trajectory visualization.It gives a clear demonstration of the attachment relationship of the wellbore track and 3d strata, at the same time, it realizes the 3d play of the layer as well as the well trajectory, the' functions of the translation, rotation and zoom of image.
