Study on three-dimensional stratum visualization of mining subsidence, which is an important research contents of coal mining subsidence simulation, has an important meaning for analysising and forecasting mining subsidence. This paper presents the realization on 3D stratum visualization of mining subsidence by combining the theory of mining subsidence and technology of 3D visualization. First, in the paper, the modeling method of digital terrain is described. A new algorithm for triangulation of planar point set has been put forward on the basis of the research on triangle net for scattered data points using the principle of planegeometry, and its time complexity is O(n log n); Secondly, 3D stratum visualization ofmining subsidence is realized by using the parameters of coal face, geological characteristics and the prediction data of mining subsidence, on the basis of OpenGL graph platform, according to the theory of mining subsidence; Finally, 3D visualization modeling of the stratum contains faults is studied. Based on the thought of generalized tri-prism, a method of 3D visualization modeling of the stratum contained one fault, two tangency faults and two opposite tangency faults is put forward in the paper.
