With the development of computer science and telecommunication technology, traditional computer aided medical techniques has gradually been unable to satisfy the needs of medical staff and researchers who urgently need to make medical decisions and conduct researches beyond the spatial limit. Such demand has spotlighted and promoted the technology of telemedicine. In view of the fact that the development condition of medical infrastructure between urban areas and rural areas are different, this paper focuses on how to transmit through networks, process and view medical case information and images, on the basis of which the paper discusses about how to provide alternative functions to help users analyze a medical case.First this paper analyzes the requirements of medical case viewing in combination of actual demands, and then performs architecture design and module design using the idea of modular and architectural design, which enable the design scalable and maintainable. The paper uses Java Applet to implement remote transmission and store of medical case information and images, DICOM analysis, display and operation of medical images, etc. which has basically met the requirements of medical case viewing.This paper designs and implements a medical case viewing system and implements the transmission of medical case information and images as well as the viewing and operation of DICOM images. The system is run on web browser and needless to install any client-side software, which has greatly diminished use limits and solved the problem of hardware restriction and achieved significant meaning in practice.
