The airborne antenna used in UHF satellite communication syetem is presented in this thesis.Firstly, the research background of this project is discussed in this thesis,and the gerenal design requirments of the airborne antenna and the research actuality of the UHF airborne satellite communication antenna are also introduced. Secondly, with the scientific projects requirements,the design methods of two kinds of UHF airborne satellite communication antenna is presented based on the theories of dipole,monopole and crossed dipoles antenna.The horizon polarization printed dipole used as the satellite communication antenna which has the characteristics of miniaturization,widebeam and small windward is designed,and a kind of co-aperture composed antenna which consists of vertical polarization antenna and crossed dipoles circular polarization antenna is also designed. By proper switching between the vertical polarization antenna and crossed dipoles circular polarization antenna,the whole half-space coverage can be provided by the co-aperture composed antenna.The EM software is used to simulate the antennas, then the prototype of the two kinds of antennas are fabricated based on the simulated results, and The electric properties of the two antennas are also tested.The test results indicate both the two kinds of antenna present good properties in the frequency range, and can meet the design requirements well.
