There are great changes in people's daily life for the development of information science. But the most obvious change is the popularization of computer, peole amost can do nothing without computer. So how to communicate with computer conveniently and naturally like human is a dream. And this is the reason for researching, developing HCNI. At the same time, with the characters of accurate, fast, convenient and ecnomic, barcodes are now showing up everywhere. So how to carry out HCNI based on barcodes not only has academic meaning, but also has practice meaning. The essential technique for this system is to locate barcode region in uncertain background. With regards to the complex picture background in this system, this paper presents an efficient, practical method for barcode localization. And with the existing barcode recognization technology, we finish the barcode recognization system under complex picture background. The main contents are as follows:(1) In actual the barcode images were captured without manual control, it is easily to get images with illumination problems, such as low contrast, unaverage contrast and so on.With regards to these problems, and after compareing to those existing methods, we proposed a method to correct the illumination problems with improved tongtai filter.(2) With regards to the complex picture background and the requirement of real time, a barcode localization (incluing 1 dimention and 2 dimention) method with integral image and fuzzy theory was proposed here.(3) Designed and simulated the barcode recognization system in complex picture background in PC. The result shows that the algorithm which proposed in this paper can locate barcode region in complex background correctly and quickly. It can meet the demand of HCNI system based on barcode.
