With the vigorous development of the automotive industry and the growing travel demand of consumers, the global automobile ownership is magnifying year by year. The strong demand in the automobile consumer market has pushed forward the maturation and development of a series of other related industries, including the car audio manufacturing industry. The head unit of a car audio device is a typical embedded system that integrates technology in many areas. The design and implementation of a car audio lies mainly on a microcontroller that controls dedicated processing chips and external devices. The design and development of software system on a microcontroller system is particularly important. This paper focuses on the systematic and comprehensive introduction of key technology of the actual software development process of the XM digital satellite radio broadcasting function module, which is a specific function module of a car audio product. Important contents include software and hardware resources used in the XM satellite digital audio radio broadcasting function module of the car audio system, layer division of software development architecture, the embedded real-time operating system standard ITRON as the basis of the entire software system, and design and implementation process of device driver layer, state transition matrix layer and application layer sub-modules of XM satellite digital audio radio broadcasting function module.
