Coverage control is a fundamental concern and research spotlight in terms of the application of target monitoring in wireless sensor networks. As for the past wireless sensor networks, many research results on coverage control have been achieved. As new types of sensory nodes have shown up, it bears new perception models and features as well. Hence, the application using current methods is confined. That requires us to propose some new methods for coverage control. This article intends to give a further and deeper research on video sensor node with both a directional sensing model and a rotational model. It especially emphasizes two aspects, such as regional coverage and barrier coverage and promotes new feasible algorithms. It is tested by quantities of analyses and simulations. The main innovative points is as follows:Coverage enhancement algorithm (CVT) is proposed, in the directional sensor network, based on voronoi diagram. This algorithm is a devised directional sensing model on the premise that its direction of sensing is adjustable while the node is fixed. It also uses graph theory and geometry. In a word, it is a kind of algorithm for regional coverage enhancement. Firstly, it transforms the matter of node sensing area into that of mass point so that the problem is turned into one that deals with mass point distribution. Secondly, it gives away the thought of rotation of directional sensing node to circular motion of mass points around the centre of the circle. Thirdly, it holds that after construction of a voronoi diagram using these mass points and modulation of their locations to build an approximate voronoi structure, the overlapping areas and blind areas can be removed from the designated network. Finally, by virtue of MATLAB simulations, a series of experiments show that the proposed algorithm can improve the coverage area and rapid convergence.What's more, this article also have remedied the maximal break-through route repairing algorithms of the directional sensor network. By comparing the weight values of the edge v,and adjusting effectively both sides'centroids in the two or more edges of the v diagram, the algorithm has sloved the strategy issues of adjust centroids for two or more times. The MATLAB simulations show that the improved algorithm's performance has improved greatly compared with the previous repairing algorithm.
