This paper presents the routing protocol of wireless campus mesh networks from both properties and secure method, and designs a kind of high efficient wireless campus mesh networks security routing protocol. Firstly, this paper introduces the characteristics of the wireless mesh networks and mainly routing protocols, and analyses the advantages and disadvantages of various protocols. The purpose is to let the reader to the wireless mesh routing protocol had the further understanding. Aiming at the characteristics of campus end-user high intensity and big mobility, and the power less demanding, the article puts forward an improved protocol AODV_D, which is based on driving table according to the distance vector routing protocol. Through the NS-2 simulations authentication, this protocol will improve grouping delivery rate, reduce the average end-to-end delay and packet loss rate. Therefore, it remarkably enhances the overall performance of the wireless campus mesh networks. However, the wireless self-organization network structure characteristics make it easy to suffer all kinds of malicious attack, but at present each institution or organization hasn't been set out standard security routing protocol. Finally, by analyzing the Ad hoc network's main security routing protocol used by strengthening the safety measures, and combine the wireless campus mesh networks characteristics itself, this paper designs the SAWCMRP protocol, which is based on security association. This protocol is to use IKE key exchange technology to establish shared security association between the source node and purpose node. So we can guarantee the integrity, availability and non-repudiation of sending and receiving messages. The example verification, SAWCMRP protocol can guarantee that the intermediate nodes cannot optionally tamper or impersonate and forge a message, which can avoid many malicious attacks, such as the worms, black holes and replay, also doesn't affect network performance.
