Application And Practice Of Agile Development In ETJU Enrollment Management System

In order to put the national education strategic planning of"rejuvenate our country through science and education", Tianjin University established Network Institute, following modern remote education patterns. TJU network institute established 35 teaching canters in 15 provinces. These teaching centers need to manage large scale of data of enrollment and examination of about 17000 persons annually. These data need to be reserved in each teaching centre as well as sent to Distance Educational School of TJU(ETJU). To fulfill these requirements, we designed and implemented the ETJU enrollment management system.We have limited development time but strict quality requirement. Therefore, we need to find a development methodology to guide the whole development. As a group of software development methodologies based on iterative and incremental development, where requirements and solutions evolve through collaboration between self-organizing, cross-functional teams, we have a try on agile development. It is immature both in theory and practice in our nation. Therefore our work is creative and practical and will give reference to other developments.We did sufficient demand research with guidance of agile development. Then we recombined the processes of United Process and placed extra emphasis on modeling of data process and process management, which is important in our system. At last, we succeed in handing over the system after much iteration. During the development, we gathered many experience of application of agile development.
