Radar echo simulation is aiming at maximally simulating complex environmental characteristics and accurate target features so as to get high-quality reflected waves. In this paper, dynamic echo simulation on high resolution ship targets is studied and the main work and achievements are as follows:Chapter one is an introduction to the paper. Firstly, the significance of echo simulation is introduced. Then, the research results at both home and abroad are briefly reviewed. Finally, some key problems intended to resolve in the paper are analyzed and an idea about echo simulation is also proposed.Chapter two studies the dynamic position modeling of missile and ship targets. First of all, we use proportional guidance law to simulate the three-dimensional track of missile and ship target. Secondly, we use sine function to model ship's three- dimensional movements including pitching, rolling and yawing. Thirdly, the real-time position model between radar and ship's scattering centers is determined. we obtain dynamic position relationship of them. The accurate position model is an important part of echo simulation for armada.Chapter three studies the characteristics of ship target. First, the theories and concepts of RCS and scattering centers are concisely reviewed. Then, the multi-path effects between sea surface and ship target is proposed and its influence on ship characteristics is analyzed. And then, we use electromagnetic software to get multi-frequency RCS data. Subsequently, the parameters of scattering centers are acquired from the range profiles at various angles. Lastly, the matching analysis between the extracted scattering centers and CAD model is carried out and the effectiveness of the ship's parameters is verified.Chapter four principally studies the modeling and simulation of high-resolution ship's echo. First, range resolution of LFM and the measured data of antenna are analyzed. Second, the common K-distribution sea clutter and noise is introduced and simulated. Third, the echo model of ships is derived under three different echo patterns, including basic, medial and high frequency. Dynamic and multi-ship trait of echo simulation is considered, involving the influence of missile-target intersection, ship swing and the overlap of echo. Finally, complete dynamic echo simulation of high-resolution sea targets is implemented.Chapter five primarily studies echo characteristic analysis and software implementation. The analysis methods for echo characteristic are proposed. Based on the stability and separability of characteristic features, the credibility is verified using echo wave, range profile and two-dimensional ISAR image. The dynamic echo simulation is realized in TS201 platform.
