Today, the threats faced by enterprises are much more complicated, but on the other hand, the demand for information safety and security is much higher than before. That is to say, the corporate has to recover from the disaster in just a few days or even a few hours if happened. So if the disaster is not promptly disposed, the corporate will mostly fall into difficulties to continue its business. How to develop effective disaster recovery plan is particularly important for the enterprises. As the disaster recovery plan mostly focuses on the recovery after the disaster and puts too much emphasis on IT department, here comes the concept of Business Continuity. As to the Business Continuity, it puts more emphasis on the co-operative work from all departments and not only IT department. It claims that the enterprise should make the Business Continuity Plan based on the resources of the whole company. That is to say, Business Continuity is the expansion and extension of Disaster Recovery.Business Continuity Management is a holistic management process that identifies potential impacts that threaten an organization and provides a framework for building resilience and the capability for an effective response that safeguards the interests of its key stakeholders, reputation, brand and value creating activities. There are several steps in the implementation of Business Continuity Plan, but how to determine the recovery sorting of business is critical. Currently, the efficiency of the algorithm used in this area is not good enough. In this paper, the author summarizes the definition of disaster recovery and business continuity, and then brings the detailed introduction of business continuity management algorithm. After the introduction of Expert System and Jess, the author applies the philosophy into the area of evaluating the performance of the business continuity process. But it is not easy for the people to understand, and it need some special knowledge about Java. Furthermore, the author applies the ontology into the business recovery sorting process. This is not only a reasonable way to measure the business recovery sorting process based on the concept of RTO, but also very important to the whole process of business continuity plan.
