Research And Practice Of Software Process Improvement Based On ML2 Of GJB5000A

With the increasing of the proportion of the software in the weapon equipment project, the scale and complexity of the software are increasing simultaneously. Software has already become the core element of equipment. The quality and reliability of software has become one of the key factors of the quality and reliability of the whole project. In 2009, Armament Department issued a newest standard called GJB5000A-2008, the standard is aim to provide an instruction for the military software development organizations. It can be used to strengthen the control and management of the software development. Armament Department stress that every organization should strengthen the quality and reliability of the military software through process improvement.Until now, our organization has reached to the last phase in level 2 of this certification. As the evaluator intern and the project software manager, I have participated on the whole process and lead our team to conduct the practice of software process improvement. In the process ,I have been confused ,explored and then understood .To solve the actual problem in the process improvement, I have read a large number of books about process improvement or project manager, read and research the standard several times, analysis and research several cases of implementation. I have fully recognized the necessity and value of process improvement as well as the complexity of implementation comparing the state before and now.In this paper, we propose the following information: first, the necessity to conduct process improvement is analyzed; second, the basic theory of level 2 about GJB5000A is analyzed; third, a method based on our practice of software process improvement is proposed , which is suitable for organizations ready to conduct process improvement; fourth, an improved procedure based on the research on Project Planning process is put forward, which can be used as a reference to the software management and the organization. The effects and the experience of the whole practice are shown at the last part.
