Design And Implementation Of The Automated Test System For Controller Of HVAC System

With the technology improvement of the controller of HVAC (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) system, the scale of the controller software is becoming larger and larger. Moreover, for the fierce competition from the competitors, the software development life cycle has been continuously shortened. In the limited short time, how to ensure the quality of the large scale controller software, that is to say how to effectively test the controller software, becomes the emergency task for the controller software development team.Software automated testing technology can help software developer and tester to produce higher quality products within shorter time. Instead of frequent repeated manual testing, automated testing can improve test efficiency and test quality. Nowadays, the technology of software automated testing has become one of the hotspots of software testing technology researching.Currently, the software function testing to the HVAC controller mainly relies on manual test and the efficiency is low. The purpose of this paper is to design and implement an automated software test tool to support software testing for HVAC controller software development. The main work of this paper is as below:1. To research the theory and tools of software automated testing and test method of embedded controller software.2. According to the features of HVAC controllers, to design an automated software test platform.3. Based on Keyword Driven Test methodology, to design the script grammar and to implement script interpreter software.4. To design and implement software architecture for the controller communication protocols.5. To create test scripts and to verify the functions of the automated software test tool.Through applying the automated software test tool to the existing controller software development projects, verify the functions of the tool. In the future, the new functions will be continuously added to the tool and it will be applied to more HVAC controller software development projects.
