With the prosperity of Web Technology, information resources sharing through the network has become an urgent demand for the development of computer technology. However, the heterogeneity of data that resulted from inconsistent programming language and system environment, non-uniform data exchange formats and delivery mechanisms makes it difficult to actually share data. Therefore, in order to achieve information sharing between systems, it is essential to solve the problem of the heterogeneity of data between systems. Data exchange is one of the technical methods to solve the problem of data heterogeneity, and all data exchange technologies are based on a special data format.Therefore, it is meaningful to research on a compact data format and efficient data exchange technology and then put them into practice to achieve information sharing. In this thesis, the current researches and developments of data exchange technology home and abroad are studied, the traditional text-based XML and JSON data exchange technologies are investigated in detail, and their insufficiencies on the modern Web applications are analyzed. The design and implementation of the binary-based MSGPACK data exchange technology are investigated too, the researches focus on the MSGPACK data format, MSGPACK serialization and MSGPACK-RPC that implemented by Java programming language. MSGPACK and JSON data exchange technologies are used in a small RESTful Web management information system, through the comparison of the two data exchange technologies, it is proved that the MSGPACK data exchange technology has higher space efficiency than the JSON data exchange technology.At the end of this thesis, what was done in the thesis is summarized, the ideal of the binary-based MSGPACK data exchange technology is fit for the modern Web Application is indicated, and the further researching direction of data exchange technology is prospected.
