Crowd simulation is an important field of the research of virtual reality. Crowd evacuation simulation is a branch of the field of crowd simulation. With the development of social economy, there are more and more large-scale public events which gather a large number of people, and security problem has drawn growing attention from people. In some crowded public buildings, because of unreasonable building design or bad emergency management, it's likely to cause congestion and block or even a crowd stampede once a variety of emergency incidents occur and people need a emergency evacuation. The study of the evacuation dynamic in crowded buildings in case of emergency with simulation technology becomes significant, which can promote the rational design of buildings, strengthen safety management, prevent and reduce the casualties under emergency conditions.In this thesis, a crowd evacuation simulation prototype system under emergency conditions based on multi-grid lattice gas model is designed and implemented. The prototype system can set the building environment and personnel distribution, show the process of evacuation dynamically, calculate and output the results of the evacuation. The system can adapt to a variety of maps, simulate and show the evacuation process in a typical environment like a single-storey building or a multi-storey building.
