A growing number of easy-to-use and steady public Web services on the Web made automatic service composition become research hotspot in constructing loosely-coupled,demand-oriented and dynamic expansion applications on the internet and rendering personalized services for terminal users.Three different granularities of Web service relations, including parameter level, operation level and Web service level, are defined from the angle of service composition and analyzed both from the view of quantity and function. On the basis of the service semantic relations defined, this paper designed a service relations based two-stage service compositon solution, dividing the service composition into two steps: abstract service composition and concret service binding. In abstract service composition, according to the different structure of abstract service composition results, service chain oriented shortest path service composition algorithm and service tree or service net oriented snowball service composition algorithm came true. The experiment showed that the approach proposed in this paper can greatly improve the accuracy and efficiency of service composition.In short, this paper studied the semantic relations between two services and explored a method of semantic relations based automatic service composition algorithm. The method can be well applied in automatically constructing Web service applications on the Service Network.
