With the widespread use of laser in various fields, the evaluation of beam qualitybecomes increasingly important. Compared with other evaluation methods, factor hasmany advantages. Although factor can describe beam quality of laser in a relativelyscientific and appropriate way, the traditional method of mobile survey has manylimitations due to the fact that M~2 factor measurement needs to obtain the spot data atmore than one position. But the M~2 factor method based on phase defocusing grating isvery reliable and can obtain the spot information at many positions. On this premise,this paper studies the software design and image data processing of M~2 factormeasurement system based on phase defocusing grating.This paper first analyzes the principle and computing method of M~2 factormeasurement based on defocusing grating, and finishes the software system design ofM~2 factor measurement system; then it conducts software requirement analysis anddesigns software architecture framework and workflow according to the actualmeasurement requirement; secondly, it studies the conversion, corrosion, expansion andsmoothing algorithm of image processing of the light spot in accordance with thefeatures of collected gratings measuring light spots, and realizes the function of imageprocessing of the light spot that can be used for M~2 factor measurement with flatparsing algorithm; thirdly, with MFC as a platform and Visual C++ as a tool, it usesobject-oriented programming technology to develop application program measuringbeam, which adopts digital image processing technology to process and analyze theimages of the section of laser beam collected by CCD camera to obtain qualityparameters of the light beam. Finally, this paper describes the steps of using thesoftware and conclusions of the test.
