Research Of RSSI Technology Based Localization Method In Wireless Sensor Networks

Wireless Sensor Network is the wireless network which is combined by massive stationary or moving sensors self-organized or multi-jumped style. Its aim is to help to sense, collect and solve the monitor information inside the area covered by network. Then it can report to the user. The abbreviation is WSN. It's widely recognized as the science technology which would mostly influence human life. It has a big range, including sensor technology, embedded technology, MEMS, modern network and wireless telecommunication. It's a comprehensive technology. WSN is combined by the single sensor nodes. How to locate the nodes inside the network is a key point in the WSN technology. Now the most widely used localization ways include locating by distance and not by distance. RSSI based range measurement technology is a common way. RSSI is the abbreviation of Received Signal Strength Indication. It can get the estimation through the strength of signal, then use the data to locate the aim.In this dissertation, some distance based and none distance based localization methods are introduced and compared with each other. The experiment platform is established. It includes the known and unknown nodes. Adjust the parameter to the best situation to begin the experiment.Four new algorithms are introduced. Two for the distance based localization and two by non distance based. They are weighted centroid method, RSSI value comparing method, probability distribution method and simplified probability distribution method. After a serial of experiments on these four methods, some precious data are obtained. Through some analysis, the characteristic and suitable condition for these algorithms is found.In the end, the dissertation contains the design and introduction of hardware platform for the experiments and the reference list.
