Integrated robot into the field of rehabilitation, it is not only meet the needs of the patient's basic training and improve the efficiency, but also provide conditions for developing a more objective rehabilitation evaluation system. Virtual reality technology can provide repeated practice, performance feedback and motivation techniques for rehabilitation training, and a large number of studies show that patients can learn motor skills in a virtual environment, then transfer the skills to the real world. The paper focuseon thebackgroud can be describled as follows:This paper studied the theory of hemiplegia rehabilitation, including technique of motor function rehabilitation in the clinical treatment and the disadvantage of the traditional rehabilitation therapy. Then established the goal of the paper is to develop a virtual reality based robot-assisted training system, so that it can assist patients with central nervous system injury to complete clinical training content. Robot-assisted rehabilitation system's design principles are safety, comfort, initiative, and convenience. As the four design principles paper designed two sets of VR training system for robot-assisted upper limb rehabilitation. One is VR rehabilitation system for exoskeleton robot and the other is multi-function portable upper limb exercise rehabilitation training system. The two systems can afford a variety of training mode, the patient can training in a single joint training mode, and also can training in a multi-joint compound training mode. It's a rehabilitation training system for home used. This paper using VC + + and OpenGL designed several virtual games for rehabilitation. Such as get balloon games, playing the piano game, moving the ball game.Music, images and language tips and other sensory stimulation are added to the rehabilitation process. In addition, the system also enable three-dimensional virtual scene display to increase patient's immersed sense , patients can choose to wear red and blue glasses, and controll the robot interact with the virtual scene.
