As oil and gas resources onshore are drying up and their price is rising, more and more countries around the world begin to exploit petroleum resources in the ocean. Exploration practice over the past several decades shows that 60% -70% of the new reserves of crude oil come from ocean, and half of them are in the deep sea. Petroleum resources in the ocean especially those in the deep sea will be the major replacement of them onshore. Semi-submersible drilling platform is suitable for deep-sea drilling, and its operating water depth can be up to 3000m and even more. Offshore platform needs the help of positioning system to keep its position accurately in the dreadful marine environment and drilling operations can be carried out successfully. Mooring positioning systems play a very important role in the positioning systems of FPSO and offshore platforms which include deep-sea semi-submersible drilling platform SPAR and so on. Accidents resulting from operational errors are increasing which cause serious loss of life and property and severe environmental disaster. It becomes urgent and important to develop simulation software and simulation training system to help marine engineering companies train their oil-rig workers and help them understand the operating requirements and mooring processes. Based on"deep-sea offshore platform marine operations simulation system", this dissertation takes anchor handling operation for the subject investigated, developed the visual simulation system of anchor handling operation in the virtual ocean. The system utilizes multi-threading technology and network communication method based on MFC framework,and the simulation technology adopts stream socket programming self-development model which is based on TCP/IP protocol, a communication platform based on application layer programming for distributed interactive simulation system is established. With Vega Prime marine module and Multi-Gen Creator, the system can connect multi-scene simulation operations at different locations, and then simulate anchor handling operations. In different wind speeds﹑wave heights and times of day, the simulation shows good effect. This provides a good tool for virtual simulation of anchor handling training and its emergency implement.
