DWDM technology is widely used in long haul fiber transmission. It can greatly enhance the fiber utilization. It is the most effective and economic way of bandwidth expanding in optical communication field. In long haul system, 10G DWDM has been widely deployed. The network is usually constructed in the way of DWDM plus SDH chain.During the network construction, it is essential to make a network implementation. The implementation involves drawing the fiber connection map, the wavelength channel map, and the facility panel map; calculating and adjusting the main input power, ensuring optical attenuator and DCM, ensuring the structure of network management center, and studying optical protection. The paper focused on the network implementation issues.By investigating the second JINGHUSUI DWDM system engineering of CTT, the paper built a network model and studied the implementation issues of WDM system's OTM station. By studying the DWDM system's maintenance, major failure, troubleshooting, optical protection, a proposal is given and evaluated to enhance the network reliability and survivability.The main research points include:1.The key technology of 40GDWDM, ROADM, the structure and the limiting factor of DWDM system are studied.2.By investigating the second JINGHUSUI DWDM system engineering of CTT, the implementation of WDM system's OTM station is studied including the fiber connection map, adjusting the main input power, realizing the central network management system.3.By studying the maintenance, major failure, troubleshooting of DWDM system and optical protection, a proposal using optical protection to enhance the network reliability is given and evaluated.
