With the growing importance of anywhere, anytime access for an increasingly dispersed workforce, the network between corporate headquarters and dispersed branch is increasingly consummate, enterprises are tend to use datacenters. Centralized access to large amounts of data will inevitably lead to a decline in network performance. The transmission speed on the WAN are affected by some factors, such as insufficient or congested bandwidth, impaired application performance, replicated data and network delay. Point products are available to improve one or another aspect of WAN performance, but we found that combination of that technologies will greatly improve the performance of communication in WANs.This paper is based on the deployment of acceleration between gateways, two accelerated gateways need to be deployed on the key nodes at edge of WANs. We discussed several key techniques of ACK agent and data stream cache,and analysed the slow speed of the TCP communication in WANs. We also improved the ACK agent and use the embedded database management system to improve disk efficiency. On that basis, packet combination and Tcptunnel technologies are use to further improve performance of WANs.Finally, the performance of the new system is analysed detailedly. This design scheme can significantly speed up the TCP communication in WANs and reducing bandwidth usage.
