Since the limits of the materials science, the recent storage module now becomes the bottleneck of the whole computer architecture. Like file-system, drivers in OS have to optimize for Magnetic HDD model, hoping to improve the performance of the system. Though the density of the magnate improves a lot, and the servo also moves faster, the Hard Drive may stand for a long time in main storage device list. The superpara-magnetic limis the hard drives'desity, so the capacity of the Hard Drive could not improve as you like.Once the shringled-write recording technology is declared, people might see the chances to improve your Hard Drives'capacity a lot, just like 10TB or even larger. The shringled-write hard drive model just makes a small change on its write head, so the hard drive could magnate the regions like the shringle. So actually, the desity and the capacity improve a lot. But as your know, its random write performance is pool.This paper will look into the key features of the WRC hard drive model, and try to study the key technology and achive it. This paper shows you that,in mapping module, after make a modeling of the WRC Hard Drive, gives the four regions to improve the random write performance, the mapping method is hybrid mapping. In cache module, the hotspot policy is introduced, and the framework is achieved. In GC module, this paper gives a algorithm which called dynamic best-benefit policy to improve the random writes patterns. And in data swapping module, the region policy differs the code/hot data more efficiency.This papar also shows you that, the research is basic on the Marvell MagniPlus HBA Card, I write a windows SCSI Miniport Driver to achevied the key firmaware modules in the filter layer. After we make tests on this platform, the paper show that, the SWR Hard Drive we simulate on the driver, improves the randomw performance a lot, nearly 300 IOPS, and 1ms Respone time cut. While the sequential performance drop about a bit.
