The remote sensing image change detection is a technique to acquire change information of observed objects through contrast and analysis of remote sensing images of the same region at different time. The optimized algorithm could determine the initial range of image segmentation threshold by the histogram of correlative coefficient.With the fast development of computer technology and extending of application, digital image processing is faced with challenges of pursuing high speed and increasing complexity, with High Performace Computing(HPC),especially parallel computing acts as a very important role. As the treat speed of PC has improved quickly, the price is cheap, and the technology of LAN become more and more useful, cluster setting-up is easy. This paper presents Multi-temporal remote sensing image change detection, and presents design, function and implementation of Change Detection system. Coping with the large amount of data and high processing complexity of remote sensing images, the new parallel algorithm of Change Detection based on Change Vector Analysis and PCA has been discussed. This approach can improve both the precision of Change Detection and increase the computing efficiency.Land use is the social activity that people utilize and transform land resources to obtain materials of production and living on certain purpose. With the growth of population and economy, the range of land use becomes bigger and bigger, the form also becomes more duplicated. The effect on regional ecological environment of land use / land cover is the key territory of present research. The paper discusses the land use and the environment change in GuangDong province from 1990,2001,2003 to 2005,using the Multi-temporal LandSat TM/ETM satellite images with the auxiliary of the social and economic data of Guangdong province .
