Passive Millimeter-wave(PMMW) imaging has the ability to work under any weather conditions and has strong abilities of concealment and anti-jamming without any active emission of Hertzian signal from the system, so it has broad application prospects in many areas. In recent years, as the development of PMMW imaging, PMMW focal plane array imaging and synthetic aperture array imaging technology become the mainstream of the system, but they both have their own advantages and disadvantages. On this background, we propose a PMMW micro-interferometry focal plane imaging method combined with interferometry, for the overlap between the beams of adjacent feeds we use interferometric measurements to produce more image pixels to enhance the spatial resolution of the image.Firstly, we analyze the millimeter-wave radiation characteristics of the object and set up the transport model of millimeter-wave radiation signals in atmosphere; then based on the description of the traditional PMMW plane array imaging system we design the antenna array of the micro-interferometry system; next, we analyze the channel of the system, discuss the composition of the channel in detail and obtain the exact expression of the output signal; in the end, based on the analysis of two different output signal, complete the information fusion and form a millimeter-wave image. Through theoretical analysis and simulation, compared to the traditional PMMW focal plane imaging system, the spatial resolution of micro-interferometry system has increased by nearly one time, and the imaging area corresponding to each pixel is more refined, the image effect is better.
