Passive millimeter-wave imaging technology is the method of achieving images through the detection of the millimeter wave energy of target scene, and this kind of technology in the field of Communication, radar, guidance, remote sensing technology, clinical medicine and security application is of great significance. However, because of millimeter-wave and the system’s inherent flaws, the result of millimeter-wave imaging effect is not very satisfactory, to create difficulties for subsequent processing and display. These years, the technological level of the millimeter-wave devices has been a lot of improve, and image processing technology has been developed rapidly, and therefore passive millimeter wave imaging technology becomes more widely used in practical engineering.These papers first analyzes the theory of passive millimeter wave imaging, analysis of imaging characteristics for different imaging system principle, and then lead into a multi-channel imaging system based on the focal plane array analysis theory and system model of focal plane array imaging. Summary of the theory of passive millimeter-wave focal plane array imaging system, propose the overall structure of the imaging system and the basic functions of modular units. Through analysis of the impact of passive millimeter-wave imaging quality factors, propose a mathematical model of the imaging system and system optimization program. Meanwhile, against image low spatial resolution and image blur uses the image processing technology for millimeter-wave image enhancement, denoising and super-resolution processing program, and then come up with the algorithm-based image quality optimization program. Finally, studies FPGA-based imaging system hardware and software, including data acquisition and video display.
