With the development of computer technology, embedded web browser technology is applied more and more in STB, mobile phone, and household appliances. Because it has great prospect in the future, it is drawing attention constantly from domestic and international manufacturers.So people are focused on how to combine embedded system and Internet,so they can surf the Internet, collect and send mails anywhere. Therefore it is importment that some key technologies of embedded browser is studied and a new solution is put foward to the existing problems.Key technology about embedded browser based on WAP is mainly researched in this paper. Through Reading of embedded browser academic report and literature at home and abroad, learning the development status and characteristic of the embedded browser, and the related technologies about WAP is researched, and the key techniques about embedded browser based on WAP are studied in the paper.The key technology research of embedded browser mainly divided into two parts: WML document parsing technology and layout technology. WML document contains of lexical analysis, semantic, grammatical analysis. The fault-tolerant technology is proposed according by ungrammatical WML page. The fault-tolerant processing technology is more perfect, more human. Layout technology is used for adaptive algorithm because of traditional layout defects. The new algorithm is compact, fully using screen space, compared with the traditional algorithm.So pepole also could see more web information in smaller screen.Finally,A new embedded browser, with Symbian mobile operating system and Carbide c++ language, based on the WAP protocol is designed, the functions basically is realized, compared with the other browser, more faster for visiting the page and more suitable for human layout is achieved in this embedded browser.
