Research Of Embedded Web Browser On IPTV Set-Top Box

With the development of telecommunication technologies ,the traditional TV isexpected more and more digital ,connected and intelligent .To satisfy people'sdemand ,STB(Set-top Box) is invented . Essentially speaking ,IPTV STB is a kind ofembedded devices ,and consists of hardware and software . Embedded browser is oneof the most important software ,which enable users connect to the internet .This thesis is mainly about IPTV embedded browser .Firstly IPTV system isintroduced and IPTV STB is defined and analyzed ,including both the architectureand the function .And then the STB manufacturer is listed .Secondly ,the keytechnologies of browser are discussed ,and HTML ,DOM ,JavaScript ,CSS ,layoutengine ,GUI are all involved .The main body of this thesis includes three related tasks .The first one is totransplant the eBrower to the IPTV STB .EBrowser is a commercial embeddedbrowser designed by EnReach company .The result of the experiment showed that thetransplanting is successful .The second one is the research of Firefox webbrowser .The thesis introduced the mozilla software platform and analyzed the geckoengine ,including the HTML parser module ,the layout module and the JavaScriptmodule .The third one is the design and test of the stream media player HTTP client.
